Working for their Facility Management division I was the Facility Supervisor for Loreto Normanhurst, a private girls school in North West Sydney.Key achievements included:• Establishment of preventative maintenance plan on ERM system• Leading the maintenance team of handymen, groundsmen and facility assistant to ensure timely response to maintenance requests, bus scheduling and major event setups• Refurbishment of staff and office areas

Providing technical and relief support to organisations such as Colliers, JLL and Goodman for commercial and industrial properties in the city and inner west.Key achievements include:• Implemented the FM service for Colliers with Sensis in Sydney. This included organisation of hard services such as fire and air conditioning and soft services such as security, car parking and mailroom.• Planned and executed restack projects to consolidate staff on site and enable under-utilised space to be subleased to other organisations and improve the Sensis bottom line. The projects were completed on time, despite extremely tight and constantly shifting deadlines. In the process I also became recognised within the Colliers project team as a “go to” person for the Serraview space planning software which I mastered soon after its introduction to the organisation.• Identified $237K per annum of savings that could be achieved by cancelling or subleasing under-utilized car spaces.• Achieved further savings in the running costs of the facilities through review of air conditioning usage, office supplies and mailroom procedures. • Provided relief for Goodman across multiple industrial portfolios for both their inner west and northern regions.

St Paul’s College was founded in 1856 and is the oldest university college in Australia. St Paul’s is home to nearly 200 men from various cultural, social, geographic and religious backgrounds. As Facility Manager I was responsible for the Summer Works program and management of the housekeeping and maintenance teams.Key achievements include:• Completed $500K summer works program, including refurbishment of Garnsey and Tower wings, on time and under budget. • Additional painting works completed with the money saved which greatly improved the presentation of key public areas.

BCS is a leading not-for-profit care organisation that has been serving the aged and people living with disadvantage for the past 65 years. As Property & Service Manager for the Western Region I was responsible for the maintenance and upgrade programs for 3 residential aged care facilities, 4 retirement villages, 7 community care centres and 1 warehouse/workshop in a region stretching across NSW from Sutherland to Parkes. Key achievements include:• Refurbished 35 village units to improve accommodation standards, facilitating 10-30% improved occupancy rates and improved profitability of retirement villages. Initially regarded as a loss centre they are now regarded as an important profit centre.• Successfully achieved aged care accreditation across all 3 residential facilities which is crucial to securing funding and demonstrating WHS compliance.• Relocated 5 multiple community centres / offices to support regional growth• Recruited higher quality maintenance and kitchen staff to improve service delivery at residential facilities.• Upgrading of aged plant and equipment in various facilities to reduce maintenance costs and improve energy sustainability.• Vastly improved records management of leases, plans, essential services certification and other key documentation.• No lost time injuries

Managing various student / retail facilities for the USU. Responsibilities include co-ordination of repairs and maintenance, policy and procedure formulation and capital projects. Began as a temporary position but was extended into a one year contract after working successfully with the organization for many months.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS• Resolved maintenance defects in Holme Building catering areas to ensure Gold Licence achieved for catering group• Organized make safe of heritage ceiling after structural problems detected to ensure student safety and business continuity• Formulated operational procedures for BMS, CCTV and Access Control systems• Provided facilities support for major events, including reorientation week at the Manning Building, to ensure 3000+ visitors catered for.

FACILITIES MANAGERManaged the Australian Technology Park at Everleigh; a scientific, research and development precinct, with an entertainment venue, on the site of the old Eveleigh Railway Workshops. Responsibilities included:• A diverse range of facilities including heritage buildings spread over 13.9 hectares.• Management of Facility Team including Facility Co-Ordinator and Grounds Maintenance staff.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Reduced complaints related to fit out works through development and implementation of new policies and procedures.• Reduced water leaks throughout the heritage buildings through implementing an extensive roof repair and restoration project. • Met and exceeded budget targets for the 2005-2006 financial year• Instituted energy and water consumption tracking• Provided technical support to the Asset Manager for Head Office relocation, ensuring the move was completed on schedule.

Short Term Contract as Facilities Co-Ordinator for Arthur Andersen in preparation for their office relocation from 141 Walker Street, Nth Sydney to 363 George Street, Sydney.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Negotiated and managed service contracts & agreements for both sites• Ensured a smooth transition to the new premises.• Collaborated with the Building Services Director in preparing space planning projections in preparation for the move.• Reduced maintenance request/complaint levels. • Delivered numerous internal relocations on time and to budget.• Trained and supervised new Facilities Assistant leading to improved service levels.

Colliers Jardine is a leading commercial real estate services organization. I joined as Assistant Operations Manager for the Qantas International Centre, 250 George St, Sydney and was promoted one year later to Building Supervisor for 3 buildings in the Sydney CBD. I was further promoted a year later to achieve the position of Facility Manager for Telstra in Darling Harbour. This tenancy had a net lettable area of 15,312 m2 and accommodated over 1,100 employees.Key achievements include:• Reprogrammed the Qantas building access control system to streamline the number of access levels by 50%. This eliminated confusion for security staff and increased business confidence in the security of the premises. • Implemented and co-ordinated various building upgrade works, including asbestos removal and lift upgrades for a ten story building in Pitt Street to improve building performance, reduce risk and improve tenant satisfaction.• Formulated operational procedures and house rules for the new Telstra tenancy to facilitate the induction of staff and contractors into the new tenancy upon completion of construction, ensuring safety and minimising disruption.• Established contracts for cleaning, fire, electrical and air-conditioning services to ensure a smooth transition out of DLP and high tenant satisfaction.
