Conducting F2F and phone interviews with randomly selected households on employment, housing and crime. Strong interpersonal and communication skills allow me to build rappot with sometimes-reluctant respondents asked to participate in surveys as volunteers over 1 to 3 year period. Strong organizational and time management skills allow me to schedule and complete interviews at participants' convenience but within government-mandated deadlines.

Event planner assistant for Riverkeeper's annual day of service for the Hudson River, including over 100 clean-up and restoration sites from NYC to the Adirondacks. Conducted volunteer outreach and online training; prepared Event Brite registration pages and associated Google Maps displays; responsible for Comprehensive Data Collection Initiative data collection and analysis, categorizing data entered onto Google Forms for each individual item collected across more than 20 sites.

Designed and taught course applying observation and interview skills to planning and design, through the lens of social justice and equity. Served as Thesis Advisor for international students on topics including design of "playful" cities to intergenerational events for preserving cultural heritage in Manhattan's Chinatown.

I conducted project management and outreach and prepared collateral materials for brownfield conference and workshop on Remediation and Land Re-Use. Events were collaborative effort with representatives from local, state and federal agencies as well as developers and industry professionals.

Taught both in classroom and online with videoconference technology and Blackboard software. I proposed, developed and taught first-ever course linking health with sustainability, approved by College of Health Professions as part of the Core curriculum. I developed and taught courses on attitude and behavior change for the Environmental Studies program, including topics such as consumerism, solid waste disposal (and recycling), water resource management, climate change and toxic contamination. Experiential learning included field trips to local recycling facilities, wastewater treatments plants and waste-to-energy facilities.

Hired to plan this event with an unusually short time-frame, I successfully completed all responsibilities on time and under budget. This symposium on the health impacts of hydrofracking promoted both formal and informal collaboration between environmental scientists, health researchers and community advocacy groups.

On this deadline-driven project, I facilitated a multi-disciplinary stakeholder team as they prepared a grant proposal to design and build a natural landscape in Brooklyn Naval Yard's former hospital cemetery site. I coordinated proposal contributions from each team member, including the landscape architecture firm, an environmental public school, the Horticultural Society of New York and Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. Additionally, I collaborated with the team's researcher to prepare a literature review and preliminary research design to study the psychological benefits of this sacred, "restorative" landscape, as required by the funder. Completing a successful proposal, the team was awarded $1M grant and the landscape was completed in 2016.

Facilitated multi-sector stakeholder team on community-based project that identified and analyzed the health impact of air, water and soil pollution on residents of Newark's Ironbound section. I had direct contact with the public through "toxic tours", responding to phone and written questions, and promoting engagement with a wide range of outreach techniques.

Conducted individual and focus group interviews for evaluation of Sing Sing Correctional Facility parenting program and NYC Public Library public programming.

I developed and co-wrote a grant proposal for NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Environmental Justice Program to study local pollution sources and their health impact on residents of Northwest Yonkers. Our research team was awarded $25,000 to conduct one-on-one and focus group interviews with homeowners and public housing residents; a street-level inventory of pollution sources; and online research about health issues related to local pollutants. Project deliverables included a community meeting that I facilitated at the public housing complex and preparation of an easy-to-read, illustrated Guide empowering residents to address the environmental justice issues in their neighborhood.
