Greater Chicago Area

Oversaw the design, implementation and execution of domestic recruitment and admission outreach programs. Created innovative tools for recruiting students within underrepresented populations, as well developed materials/programs such as virtual one-on-one student meetings, virtual regional sessions, and virtual student panels in collaboration with the UM marketing department.Co-led the programs and events arm of the Slate implementation team. This included creating functionality, forms, processes and training the entire staff on various Slate components. Responsible for all aspects of an assigned recruitment territory (currently the Midwest), which included attending over 150 admission events and reviewing over 1,600 applications in each cycle. Also, managed two assistant directors, who managed all admission staff orientation, off-campus events and CRM event support.

Established inaugural regional admission presence for the office, which included territory management of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Additionally, I was responsible for managing 25 part-time readers for the application review team, which also included crafting the application review policies and procedures and training the staff. Served as a member of the hiring committee and organized all off-campus events.

Coral Gables, Florida, United States

Managed recruitment, data analytics and oversaw the selection processes for Delaware, the Caribbean, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Was also a member of the communication team, which included writing/editing all official admission letters, shaping the campus visit experience, strategizing messaging for the outside search vendor, retooling the admission website, being the founding editor of the blog, “Eye of a ‘Cane” and spokesperson for “Chat with Charles” series on the admission YouTube channel.Additionally, was selected to chair the inaugural Enrollment Management’s Culture of Belonging Working Group, which was tasked with cultivating inclusion within the division.Lastly, was responsible for coordinating multicultural recruitment, which included overseeing the Jenkins Scholarship, Hammond Scholarship, Harambee Weekend (only stay-over student visit program) and the multicultural committee.
