The Major Projects directorate sits within the Department of Finance to deliver on significant, major non-residential infrastructure projects such as the Optus Stadium, the WA Museum Boola Bardip, and other major works in progress. This position plays a key role in the planning and delivery of high value, high risk complex project outcomes. In this role I develop and manage high value and high risk complex contracts and supervise a team of project managers, procurement professionals and practitioners; whilst also maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Senior Project Officer, Infrastructure - Capital Works and Maintenance Division. Department of Education, East Perth, Western Australia.In this role I was responsible for general infrastructure communications from stakeholder groups across 200+ schools in Western Australia’s Perth North Metropolitan, Pilbara and Midlands regions, whilst simultaneously undertaking client side project management and delivery of capital works infrastructure projects. These include election commitment, stimulus program, Covid19 recovery and business as usual projects; with a combined value in excess of $300 million and most notably including Bob Hawke College Stage 2, Karratha Senior High school stage 3.1, the new Landsdale Gardens Primary School brown field development and the Carine Senior High School redevelopment project.

Site Architecture Studio is a Perth architecture and design practice focussed on providing unique design responses for public and private clients. These responses are discovered through a collaborative process of enquiry and debate with clients and staff to establish strong design values and concepts with a shared vision. These architectural ideas are researched and rigorously tested throughout the design process resulting in relevant and meaningful architecture.

A summer research scholarship, run by the University of Tasmania in conjunction with the City of Hobart. This project was to develop a venues catalog for arts and cultural use. The aim of the venue catalog is to showcase and curate the city of Hobart as a creative venue; and is founded off the back of the Creative Hobart Strategy. Along with colleague Pip Grainger, I worked to define the scope of the project and develop the project brief. The process required extensive consultation both within the Hobart City Council and externally with representatives from the cultural sector; and key stakeholders within the city of Hobart. From these consultations a template was devised to effectively communicate information about Hobart’s creative spaces.

Masters of architecture requires a successful demonstration of competence in the analysis, synthesis, judgement and communication of architectural ideas and solutions.

I spent my time in this role leading a computer and design unit for year 7 through to year 12 classes. This involved instructing and developing curriculum and assignments aimed towards providing students with computer literacy and creative problem solving skills which were then applied across a broad range of their other units.Whist immersed in the rural province of Suphan Buri, I learnt the Thai language to an intermediate level, which I now speak with limited working proficiency. These language skills assisted in furthering my pursuit of an independent study of Thai architecture and design.
