Director, Canton ChapterPresident'S Council On Physical Fitness And Sports Jan 1990 - Dec 1992In 1990, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the National Director of the President's Council appointed by the President, requested changes be made to the outmoded testing protocol and pedagogy used by the President's Council for its youth fitness evaluation and awards.Over a two year period while Director of the Canton Chapter, Connie Clark worked directly with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Suzanne Timken, the volunteer Chair, to research a new model and methodology for improving youth conditioning and to develop a new format for testing youth fitness levels for the President's Council awards program.After collaborating with 8 school systems, 2 major universities and presenting the findings across the country before national experts and leaders in the fitness movement, the model youth fitness program was adopted by the President's Council as its recommended conditioning and testing methodology at the end of 1992.Connie was named the YMCA Program Director of the Year in 1993 as a result of this cutting-edge fitness research.
