Successfully led the finance team that Pre-Opened Eka Hotel Eldoret and carried out the following duties and responsibilities.• Ensuring the finance critical path is strictly followed to ensure a smooth opening of the hotel. • Familiarizing with local laws, statutory requirements, payroll, insurance and organization charts.• Installing various hotel systems (Opera PMS, POS, SUN Accounting, Material Control, Payroll System, Key Cut System, Clocking System).• Facilitated the successful upgrade of Sun Version 4 to Sun Version 6.4, aligned all accounting templates from Vision Executive Program to Excel Templates as per Sun Version 6, Switch over of ETR system to KRA TIMS and currently working with the IT Team to upgrade to ETIMS to ensure total compliance with regulatory requirements.• Setting up internal control systems and processes at different levels and conducting training with HODs Policies & Procedures.• Documenting relevant SOPs, and aligning finance operations to them such as month-end procedures, accounts receivables, accounts payable, depreciation, disposal, GL postings, reconciliations etc. • Ensuring the department is adequately staffed with the correct human resource. • Preparing balance sheet schedules on a monthly basis.• Setting up food and beverage controls while ensuring all computations are adequately reviewed and approved. • Ensuring the hotel credit policy is strictly adhered to and communicated to all relevant employees. • Review daily spot-checks reports and ensure slow-moving items are addressed.• Carrying out monthly audits on the payroll.• Successful implemented finance BSC in line with the company strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities• Processed and remitted statutory returns and taxes to KRA, NHIF, NSSF, Tourism Fund, KAHC and Nairobi City County.• Processed all invoices to the accounting system for both inventory and non-inventory items. • Reconciled creditor’s accounts and processing of payments in line with agreed credit terms.• Prepared quarterly balance sheet schedules for review by Chief Accountant and FC. Assist the Chief Accountant in External and Internal Audits by providing support paperwork, reconciliation and responding to audit queries.• Carried out month-end procedures, which includes, posting payroll, stock consumption, insurance journals, prepayment schedules, VAT reconciliation and release of month-end financial reports. • Prepared bank and credit card reconciliation daily.• Prepared daily revenue reports, weekly and monthly forecasts in liaison with the FC.• Reviewed all journals for all my colleagues and posted them, this includes; Revenue journals, Debtors Journals and Petty Cash Journals.• Maintained a proper filing system for payment vouchers, statutory payments; vendor invoices and audit reports
