I serve as part of the leadership team to guide facility policy and ensure high-quality patient care. As case manager, I educate patients and families about insurance benefits and ensure their authorizations are submitted in a timely manner. I assist with patient care to compliment the nursing team.

As a full time student, I am dedicated to the promotion of my craft as a nurse and the advancement of my career in the healthcare field. I have actively participated in the work study program and have served at Sharp Chula Vista with their Integrative Therapy department and Clinical Research staff. I've also worked with Alzheimer's San Diego with their companion program. I completed an externship with UCSD Hillcrest in their progressive care unit as a student RN and clinical surveyor.

Coordinate as part of healthcare team to establish safe discharge plan from nursing home. Assist with member improvement and wellness goals. Develop process for managing high volume of members to promote access to quality care in clinical settings. Manage and direct caseload of 700+ nursing home members.*I resigned my position in June 2018 to attend school full time and pursue my RN.

Facilitate safe discharge planning for HMO patients. Maintain authorization for continued stay and therapy services with individual patient HMO plans. Educate, direct and problem solve operations of facility as part of management team. Assist in creation and revision of facility policies.

Teach and counsel patients and famlies during end stage process. Assess and manage patient for pain. Work as part of team to help family transition during emotional stage of end life.

Assess and monitor patient progress in opiate treatment program. Pain management of population with high tolerance resulting from opiate abuse. Administer and communicate with health care team about patient status.

Management of Nursing Assistant staff. Objective documentation of patient care. Careful observation of Doctors orders for patient care. Maintaining and bettering patient wellness and psychosocial health.
