I preform quality testing on plastic bottle packages. We test the durability for shipping, the carbonation loss, the aging process, material distribution testing, and take multiple dimension measurements.

Laboratory Assistant to Dr. Banes-Berceli investigated hypertension and the renal and vascular complications of diabetes. While in the Genetics Laboratory I successfully preformed linkage analysis of three different genetic loci on Brassica rapa by utilizing knowledge of DNA purification, Microcentrifugation, PCR, and Gel Electrophoresis. I also Successfully isolated mutant strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae by utilizing knowledge of replica plating and patching Saccharomycescerevisiae on different dropout medias.During the Organic Chemistry Laboratory I identified an unknown compound using IR spectroscopy, analysis of mass spectroscopy, NMR, and determination of the boiling point. I Preformed Differential Extraction and Re-Crystallization experiments,and preformed a fractional distillation of a binary mixture. I have Isolated and characterized a natural product using steam distillation and Infrared Spectroscopy, successfully preformed a Grignard Reaction, and synthesized trans-P- Anisalacetophenone by a crossed aldol condensation reaction. I also Nitrated an Aromatic compound and synthesized methyl salicylate on a microscale.While participating in the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory I determined the density of NaCl, preformed EDTA titrations, and determined unknown acids and weight percents via titrations. I determined mass via potentiometry and gravimetric analysis, as well as determined volume percents via gas chromatography.

I Attended 2 weeks of leadership training and gained skills in organizing and leading programs and meetings, team and time management, as well as presentation skills. I gained personal growth and professional skills while guiding 37 freshman girls through their first year of college education. I Created monthly educational and social programs and meetings, I helped them with homework, work through roommate issues, and adjust to college life.

I took and served customer oreders as well as helped make food and drinks when the bar was busy.
