About Charles M. Miceli
I am an award-winning author and poet and consultant with over 30 years experience in writing, program development and administration, and public speaking in a wide variety of venues. My greatest accomplishments reflect works that have a significant impact on society and individuals. I have held diverse positions such as Training Officer for jails and a maximum security prison, Coordinator for the National Institute of Corrections, Chief of Curriculum at the Connecticut Justice Academy, Manager of the Connecticut Executive Management Program and Projects Director for the Department of Motor Vehicles. I am more widely known for my work outside of Connecticut. As a consultant I have provided technical assistance and training to professional, educational and government organizations throughout the United States.I have been a play-write, director and actor. I co-created the St. Thomas Passion Play in 1979 and co-directed it for the first 14 years. I am the creator and project manager for several large-scale civic projects including “Trainland” at Hartford’s Winter Wonderland. I was creator and co-chair of “Apple Village” for Southington’s Apple Harvest festival. My volunteer work includes Habitat for Humanity in Baltimore, work with the homeless in Washington D.C., with soup kitchens in New York City, with the poor in Mexico, and hurricane Katrina relief in Mississippi. I was a Board of Directors member for Connecticut's Every Dollar Feeds Kids since its inception and Chairman of the board for two years. Most of my activities since 2003 have revolved around my writing and speaking engagements.
