I believe that every individual has a special set of skills and strengths that they need to use to their full potential to help make the world the best it can be. As an individual myself, I have consistently monitored my intangible strengths throughout the years through Gallup StrengthsFinder, through reflection after leadership seminars, and through conversations with my trusted colleagues. What I have found is that all my strengths can be summarized into two main themes: I am a developer of people and I see every person as an individual. This is where my education comes into play. As a Psychology and Marketing Communication double major I am well-versed in personality theories, consumer behavior, systems of learning and memory, and motivation. I strategically paired my education and my platform as a Paralympic athlete for Team USA. I have started creating online content on professionally done social media pages to strengthen my personal brand and promote my passion for public speaking. I view my cerebral palsy as an opportunity more than a disability and I strive to share my life story with as many people as I can. I want to challenge them to overcome and adapt. I never thought I would have the opportunity to throw javelin in the Rio 2016 Paralympics. But I did.
