PhD thesis: 'Thick discs and truncations in spiral galaxies'Research in astronomy on how the very faint outskirts in the discs of galaxies were formed and how they evolved. This includes collecting, processing, and analysing data from professional telescopes, writing scientific articles on high-impact scientific journals, collaboration meetings, or participating in international conferences.
