I work in the Central Programmes Office, supporting our three mission teams to design, test and scale new solutions for society's biggest challenges.I previously managed Accelerating Ideas, a partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund to scale up eight innovations that help people to age well, feel connected to others, and be part of active, engaged local communities.I worked on the second Rethinking Parks programme, a partnership with Big Lottery Fund and Heritage Lottery Fund. This was a £2.5 million programme to support innovation addressing the challenges faced by public parks.

I worked as a Programme Manager supporting grantees to help scale up innovations that use social action and volunteering in and with public services. This was primarily through the Centre for Social Action Innovation Fund, a £14m partnership between Nesta and the Office for Civil Society.

I held a number of positions at Lambeth Council, focused primarily on regeneration and employment. Key achievements include:- Developing and implementing Lambeth's approach to tackling empty shops, including the successful rejuvenation of Brixton Village market- Delivering a successful programme of support for Lambeth's social enterprise sector, including the expansion of the local credit union- Co-ordinating the development of a new strategy for growth in the borough.

I joined Reading Borough Council as a participant on the National Graduate Development Programme for Local Government, a management development scheme for the sector. I gained experience in a range of service areas, including policy, community care, education and regeneration.I was later promoted to the role of Senior Policy Officer, where I was responsible for supporting the work of Overview and Scrutiny committees, including an innovative and successful cross-party review of the private rented housing sector.

A full time position, I was part of a team of elected officers leading this large students' union. I was responsible for communications to new students, development of Students' Union's website and newsletters, and for elections and other democratic processes. A key achievement was to introduce one of the first online voting systems for student elections, boosting participation by 40%.

As a teenager I was one of the original co-founders of Digital Spy, now a massively successful entertainment news and discussion website with millions of visitors each year. I edited the cable television, broadband and telecoms sections of the site and was a forum moderator.While I left in the early days to concentrate on my studies, I'm hugely proud of what the team went on to achieve in developing Digital Spy as a successful business.
