About Dr. Charles Mount

I am a Project Archaeologist and Environmental Impact Assessment EIA consultant with more than 30 years experience of archaeology, cultural heritage assessment and project management. I am Project Archaeologist at Bord na Mona where I am responsible for overseeing the progress of one of the largest archaeological excavation programmes in Ireland. I am also Project Archaeologist with the Irish Concrete Federation where I am responsible for implementing the Archaeological Code of Practice agreed with Government. I also provide archaeological and cultural heritage advice to a number of private companies and semi-state organisations. I am a graduate of University College Dublin with an M.A, and Ph.D. in Archaeology as well as Diploma in EIA and SEA Management. I also hold an M.B.A. in Management from the Open University. I a member of the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland and the Chartered Management Institute. I have worked in a variety of archaeological, heritage and management roles within the university, state, semi-state and private sectors. I have directed and participated in archaeological excavations throughout Ireland and Britain. I have carried out Environmental Impact Assessments EIA of a variety of development types from extraction and waste projects, to agri-food and energy.
