I am a technology PR consultant, content strategist and copywriter with 26 years’ experience with some of the leading tech brands and UK-based agencies. I am also a communications skills trainer for the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) and private clients. Over the last decade or so, I have spoken at several conferences, including those run by BrightonSEO and Econsultancy.Aside from tech PR, I run a football culture and history blog and podcast, Outside Write. I have authored two books on football history. My first book, 'Origin Stories: The Pioneers Who Took Football to the World', came out in April 2021, and my second, ‘The Defiant: A History of Football Against Fascism’ came out in Oct 2022 and was entered for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year 2023. My third book comes out in March 2025.I currently help brands and agencies with their comms and content, especially in cloud computing and software-as-a-service (SaaS), greentech and electric vehicles, and fintech. I also write football-related content for publications, including Glory magazine, Football Weekends and Halb Vier.English is my first language, and I also speak Spanish fluently plus conversational Italian and French.I am keen to do more guest lecturing at universities. I have trained students at the London College of Communication (PR), University of Wolverhampton (LinkedIn), University of Westminster (social media), and University of Bath (Latin American studies).Career highlights include: - Agency-side lead for the global launch of Philips’ male grooming content and social media, which included multi-market, multi-agency management (Emanate)- Headed up digital skills training worldwide at global communications agency Grayling for three years- Led "Hilton Matchmaker" Facebook campaign, which won ‘bronze’ at the Travel Marketing Awards 2016 (Grayling)- Led development of Grayling’s online crisis simulator- Ran influencer relations for key brands, including Philips and Ubisoft - including the launch of the 2011 Christmas bestseller Just Dance 3 (Emanate) - On organising committee for TEDxRTW 2019- Was a regular contributor for City AM on marketing issues I have consulted a wide range of clients on digital and PR projects, including Kaspersky, Polycom, Xerox, PayPal, Amadeus, Kenya and Croatian National Tourist Board.
