Legal & General are upgrading their security framework which provides identity and access management capabilities for external users, both intermediaries and customers. The SCRAM project (Secure Customer Registration and Access Management) involved the implementation of ForgeRock access management solution to manage the authentication and authorisation of both Customers and IFAs. The solution involved multiple interfaces both internal legacy and external to fulfil the desired requirements and objectives.• Analysis of technical design documents, liaising with technical architects and developers to understand the solution.• Creation and execution of test cases, raising defects and managing them through to closure. • Daily updates of testing progress within Sprint “stand-ups”, all within the Agile methodology.• Review previously written User Stories and work with BAs to enable better development and testing practices.• Support business teams while undertaking UAT. Manage any queries or defects arising from testing.• When analysing any errors, query AWS (Amazon Web Service) logs for defect evidence.• Creating and manipulating records within ForgeRock to support testing.

Shard Capital is upgrading their internal customer onboarding system, creating a new trading platform and customer portal. As I was the only test resource, my role was to test those systems and at the same time bring the team up to speed with testing best practice including how best to create Agile User Stories to enable quality development and testing.Responsibilities included:• Review previously written User Stories and recommend improvements to enable better development and testing practices.• Create tests based on reviewed and signed off User Stories brought into Sprint.• Undertake System Testing, raise any defects and manage them through to retest and closure.• Complete lifecycle testing.• Testing data within database using SQL queries. • Data manipulation for test preparation.

At Lloyds I had two objectives, firstly, testing to ensure that data which had passed through an ETL process was transformed as per the specification. SQL queries were used to interrogate the database and extract specific data sets to ensure that the data transformations were correct. The data was then checked within the UI, verifying that the data was presented correctly as per the UI specifications. Secondly, data migration was undertaken to move data from legacy systems into a new system. Testing involved interrogating the new database via SQL queries to ensure the migrated data matched exported data sets. Responsibilities included:• Analyse new design documents for latest release against old to extract the latest changes.• Using x-ray for JIRA, write test scrips based on those identified changes.• Write SQL queries for data extraction and analysis to support test execution.• Execute the test cases and raise defects, report progress to management.• Undertake UI testing to ensure data is presented as per the requirements.• Analyse any discrepancies within the data to give complete understanding of any defects found.

While at Legal & General I my three main projects were: - Modernisation of their Life Assurance quotation system. The project is broken down into multiple phases with the initial phase establishing a policy member data cleansing and transformation process via an AWS API. The solution requires the build and test of complex algorithms, which determine how the data is cleansed and presented ready for quotation.- Improvement of performance of call centre software via hardware upgrades. Extremely high profile as this was undertaken in the Production environment involving multiple teams, both onshore and offshore.- IFRS17 test programme planning.Responsibilities included:• Liaise with the business to Write and execute System, System Integration and Performance Tests. MetLife is one of the largest insurance companies in the world covering life insurance, Group Protection (GP) and Income Protection (IP), annuities, employee benefits and asset management with approx. 100 million customers. Major infrastructure changes have been implemented from the introduction of an online e-Commerce solution for IFAs, to the implementation of Salesforce working as their CRM solution within MetLife. The e-Commerce solution is a key strategic application for the company. My role has covered the testing of IP and GP products along with a new ISA product validating both internal and external interfaces as well as co-ordinating End to End testing with third party vendors and ensuring testing best practice was adhered to. A project called Contact Enquiry was also undertaken to allow policy valuations via XML Web Services exposed via APIs. Finally, a major migration from NetSuite to Salesforce took place enabling the business to streamline and more effectively integrate with third party systems. Responsibilities:• Write & execute System, System Integration and Performance Tests. Management and ownership of defects in relation to ISA and Contract Enquiry projects.• Performance testing and test automation using jMeter and Selenium to achieve near 100% coverage.• Validation of data migrated to new Salesforce environment ensuring data relationships still intact.• Interface testing covering both internal systems and Capita, the external 3rd party solution provider.• Using SOAP UI and XML Spy to manually execute tests and analyse results.• Co-ordinating UAT and advising business users regarding test processes and best practice.• Co-ordinating End to End testing with Capita to ensure whole solution supports the business processes.• SQL script writing and database querying.• Automation of MetLife e-Portal GUI using Selenuim in a controlled Citrix environment.• Testing XML data packets from CSC and Capita in a .Net / Java environment.

Equiniti have the contract for supplying the Pensions solution for multiple private and public organisations supporting 2.9 million members over 750 schemes paying over £13 billion annually. The latest project was to implement a new government 2015 Armed Forces pension scheme on PenServer, the Equiniti pension solution, ready for roll out in April 2015. My role was to System and Integration test the solution, then support the UAT phase through to project closedown and implementation. Responsibilities included:• Plan, design, build and execute system test scripts based on high risk business areas• Write and execute SQL queries to find or modify data to facilitate System and Integration testing.• Record defects in Mantis and manage throughout the whole defect lifecycle to closure• Create Pension Award interface files capturing complex test scenarios and import into Penserver to facilitate System testing• Support development and analyst teams to resolve defects throughout all test phases• Work with 3rd party client (CSC) to process System Integration files and analyse any issues that arise• Support CSC in data file analysis

Legal and General have been undertaking an upgrade to their Point-Of-Sale systems for mortgage sales agents and advisors across the whole Legal and General sales network. The project involved updates to the legacy Intelliflo Intelligent Office solution as well as integration with mortgage search tools, Mortgage Brain and TriGold Prospector. My role was to System Test the solution as well as to liaise with the business to plan, design and build UAT test scripts from business process documentation encompassing multiple business areas critically, the mortgage quote and apply processes. Responsibilities included:• Plan, design and build System Test scripts • Plan, design and build UAT and System Test scripts focusing on high risk and key business processes as identified by the business. • Create coverage matrices demonstrating level of requirement test coverage that the UAT and System Test phases would achieve. • Give in-depth walkthroughs of UAT test scripts and coverage matrices to key project sponsors proving the level of coverage that the testing would achieve. • Test scripts built within Excel and uploaded into ALM (Quality Centre) for test asset management.• Mentoring of team members to ensure best practice was adhered to. • Visits to Intelliflo to establish System Test phase progress and ensure testing best practice is adhered to.

MetLife is one of the world’s largest Insurance companies. With an aggressive growth plan, the company is streamlining business system to ensure the IT infrastructure can support the planned growth. Projects involved working on a number of small in-house developments as well as an IT solution to manage MetLife’s IFA’s and corresponding commission payments and a quotation system to support the sales team creating insurance scheme quotes. These latter two projects were built by a third party vendor based in Dublin. This test lead role required liaising with the vendor ensuring the testing taking place at the vendor’s site was to industry standards and met the level of test coverage required by MetLife. Responsibilities included:• Feed into creation of collaborative testing approach between the vendor and MetLife.• Regular travel to Dublin (vendors site) and Canary Wharf (location of UAT MetLife team) to discuss test progress and deliverables.• Creation of Test Plans covering Interface Testing and UAT.• Review all test assets delivered as part of vendors System Testing. • Ensure all quality gates are met before entering into UAT phase.• Supporting business users throughout the UAT phase ensuring best practice is adhered to at all times when creating test data, test cases, executing test scripts and recording of results.• Manage / coordinate defect process between MetLife and vendor for UAT phase.• Defect management via Excel documents between vendor and UAT team.• Plan, write and execute Interface and System Test scripts and liaise with technical team at vendors site.• Test progress reporting and management of defects through to close down.

The ability to react to market fluctuations is imperative for the business to succeed therefore Airmiles undertook the rebranding project to Avios enabling them to change market offerings instantly be that driven by hoteliers themselves or by Avios via the latest industry technology. TravelBox, the leading Travel and Tourism solution, Oracle 10g, interfacing to the outside world through a Java based web client was the core of the solution. This was required to interface with many legacy systems.Responsibilities included:• Plan, write and execute test scripts which then fed into regression test pack for execution in an agile development environment.• Support business users through UAT/BAU phase from a test data, test creation, business process and test methodology perspective.• Reporting defects and managing through to close down using JIRA and liaising with off-shore development team.• Working with 3rd Party suppliers to ensure test data requirements are met.• Interrogation of Oracle DB via SQL query’s to support testing.• Testing financial functionality and computations within TravelBox then out to the Web interfaces.• Supporting and testing TravelBox configuration from Mark UP rules to Supplier and Accommodation setup and many more features.• Ran a Proof of Concept for test automation using Selenium.

Capita have the contract for creating one of the biggest databases in the UK (32 million contacts) for a BBC-TV Licensing project involving large scale data migrations. The objective of the project is improved business intelligence through the implementation of both Siebel Marketing (v7.7) and Analytics (v7.8) modules along with a data warehousing application (Teradata v11.0) giving the ability to campaign customers to drive down licence evasion through more timely and accurate customer interactions.Responsibilities included:• SQL Scripting to System Testing, collate test results and evidence within an Oracle Data Warehouse. • Unix script analysis and basic administration to aid test execution and analysis.• Test script generation, execution and result recording and reporting within Quality Centre 8.2.• Interface testing inc. management of third party relationships to ensure interfaces are tested in an accurate and timely manner. Complex interface file creation where stub is required.• Environment management involving environment update requests and propagation of status to teams.• Two months managing Performance Testing for initial phase of testing. Objective: to prove campaigns can execute within an operational window in the Production environment. Performance tuning Siebel Analytics application and data warehouse to ensure daily runtime fell within strict contractual obligations.
