Senior Software Engineer
Sr. Engineer Iii
As a Senior Engineer on Team Six, I am responsible for estimating, architecting, developing, and maintaining dozens of ASP.NET/.NET Core applications on the Serve platform. The primary language for all of these applications is C#. This platform is used by millions of customers across multiple productsThis is a full-stack team, working on everything on the Serve platform. This includes the Secure Website with MVC, WCF services, Web APIs, console apps and windows services. Our team constantly works on applications that we are not familiar with. This forces us to learn and adapt very rapidly so we can accomplish our sprint goals. When needed, I provide guidance and support for the other members of the team. Every sprint I do code reviews, whiteboard sessions to work out solutions that the team is struggling with, as well as my own sprint work to complete UserStories/Bugs. I also mentor the Jr. developers as needed. I also fill in for our Tech Lead while he is out on vacation or otherwise unavailable.Specific accomplishments include:Bringing .NET Core to the Serve platform. We needed to implement 3 new APIs to interact with some new Partners. .NET Core had always been a long term goal of ours, so I suggested we try it out now. This involved porting several of our existing libraries (for things like logging, configuration, api calls, etc.) to .NET Standard as they were incompatible with .NET Core. This turned out better than we could have hoped for. These applications experienced no major issues once they were released to production.Implementation of the 3D Secure protocol within the Add Money flow. I took a lead role during this project to keep everyone focused on the end goal. This involved many discussions with our 3D Secure vendor to figure out how their API worked and what the best way would be to bring it into the Serve platform. I created sequence diagrams to ensure the whole team understood the changes necessary to successfully make the API calls.
Sr. Engineer Ii
As a Sr Engineer on at InComm, I assisted with the transition of the Serve platform from American Express to InComm. This entailed updating all of our applications to use the latest version of the .NET Framework at the time (4.7.1) and configuring all of the API URLs to be dynamic so that they would still function once moving to the new InComm hardware.During the transition to InComm, one of the major focuses of our team was assisting with load testing. I got to utilize the JMeter tool for the first time to execute load tests against one of our APIs that was experiencing some odd issues.I was also responsible for filling in for our Tech Lead when he was out on vacation.
Sr. Engineer Ii
As a Senior Engineer on the Presentation team, I am responsible for estimating, architecting, developing, and maintaining the Responsive Web application use by millions of customers across multiple products. This includes working with other components of the Serve platform to ensure everyone is on the same page and that integration goes smoothly.Specific focus was on automated testing (both unit tests and integration tests with Selenium) and Test Driven Development.Leveraged web technologies such as MVC 4, Angular, React, ES 6, and Webpack to achieve the necessary goes outlined by the product team.Called WCF services and REST APIs to gather and update data.Assist other presentation components as needed (API, Mobile, etc.).Responsible for mentoring Junior Developers on the team.Used SCRUM project management philosophy.Led hackathon team that provided proof of concept for how we could leverage Angular 2 in our application.Responsible for providing prototype for React implementation for our Dashboard Notifications.Act as main point of contact for Single Sign On project, allowing our mobile application to reach out directly to secure website without forcing a second login.Created project to assist with automated integration testing by leveraging the Selenium open source framework.
