Grants & Marketing Executive
Working for ABTA LifeLine has been the most fulfilling and challenging role of my career. I see many tasks through from start to finish, ranging from grant applications, national and international events, fundraising campaigns, and much more. I run all social media, the website and marketing for the charity, using it as a platform to encourage support and donations for a number of different causes across our charity. In one day I could start by providing someone with the financial grant they so desperately need, then move onto arranging a fundraising dinner with 120 guests, then run a report for our trustees, and finish with launching a fundraising campaign on our social media platforms. Each day is different and my work is always varied. With just myself and my colleague running the charity, its very much all hands on deck. This role has given me the unique experience to learn about all aspects of a charity and my day to day role is incredibly complex. Learning how to prioritise has been very helpful in ensuring everything runs smoothly, and my skills in multitasking has been incredibly useful too. All of my skills, some I didn't even know I had, have truly been put to the test. A huge part of my role has been new to me, with no prior experience in things like networking, presenting, design, public speaking, events management, to name a few, I am now confident in all and find them thoroughly enjoyable. Dealing directly with our applicants in such an emotional and difficult time in their lives can be very challenging, but having a strong sense of compassion helps me to provide them with the 'LifeLine' they so desperately need, giving them words of comfort and reassurance along the way.
