I have experience with supporting at-risk youth in a residential setting and have found this kind of work to be both challenging and rewarding. I always hope to make a positive difference in the lives of the youth that I support. I also have a BC professional teaching certificate and a bachelor’s degree in Education. I have taught students of all ages in a variety of subject manner and classroom settings. I have helped to create curriculum and lesson plans that honor Indigenous ways of knowing and have helped to facilitate cultural presentations by showing respect to Indigenous elders and knowledge keepers. I have learned how to support neurodivergent learners and I value the enthusiasm that children have for learning about themselves, their community, and their nation.I also believe that I am well suited to work with individuals who have disabilities or need shelter and supportive housing. Everyone is a member of our society and can therefore contribute in some way. We can learn from community members who may be living on the margins of our society by treating them with respect and compassion during every interaction.
