Worked on all aspects of complex civil litigation, from risk assessment and advice prior to the filing of an action, through discovery, trial preparation, trial, and appeal where necessary. Primarily focused on securities and financial services litigation, employment litigation and general business litigation. Represented businesses, individuals, securities broker-dealers, managers and registered representatives in litigation in state and federal courts, arbitrations and before regulators.

Prosecuted a significant caseload of misdemeanor and felony offenses. Managed cases from trial setting through verdict, determining what additional investigation was required for trial, negotiating with defense counsel to try to resolve cases prior to trial, and trying cases when necessary. Handled over thirty jury trials from voir dire to verdict, including a dozen felony drug trials, a couple felony mainstream trials involving burglary and auto theft, a half-dozen domestic violence misdemeanor trials and multiple domestic violence felonies. Attended a week-long trial skills training course at National College of District Attorneys at the National Advocacy Center.

Worked in the litigation department on complex and general commercial cases including contract disputes, monopolization claims, corporate securities claims and corporate malfeasance claims, among others. Responsibilities included managing discovery, writing and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, writing legal memoranda and interviewing witnesses. Represented a non-profit in an attempt to force the state to enforce a previously unenforced environmental law and represented Court Appointed Special Advocates in trials to remove children from abusive and neglectful homes. Prosecuted felony drug trials in King County Superior Court for two months as a Perkins Coie Community Service Fellow.
