Pioneer Hi-Bred acquired by Dupont where I continued to work on systems critical to the managementof sequencing data.- Responsible for the design and implementation of a novel system for processing and managinghundreds of terabytes of Illumina genomic sequencing data that drives core research activities for theorganization.- Design goals include flexibility for the lab to use varied workflows to reduce costs and maximizesequencing throughput while maintaining a consistent downstream interface to the resulting data forcomputational biologists.- Design of custom Avro-based file formats for the efficient processing of sequence data by distributedsystems such as Hadoop.- Integration with primary laboratory information management systems and various downstreamexternal systems via event streams and services.(Python, Java, Hadoop, Flask based service API's)
