About Daniel Bowden

I’m thankful to have grown up as the son of a Class A PGA Professional and to have been able to play Division I College Golf and Professional Golf in the U.S. and Canada. I am passionate about player development and feel blessed to be able to make an impact in the lives of the players I coach.- Recorded 10 Division I Team Victories before the age of 35 (in just 4 full seasons due to pandemic)- Teams have won the CAA Men’s Golf Championship in last 3 of 4 in which they've competed (2018, 2019, 2023)The Seahawks Men’s Golf program has qualified for the NCAA Regional Championship in four out of the last five years they have been played since Coach Bowden took the helm in the Fall of 2017. Under Coach Bowden’s leadership, UNCW Men’s Golf Team ranked 11th in Division I Golf in National Scoring Rating during the 2020-2021 Season with an under par team scoring average. The top two players both averaged under par for the season. Walk-on Blake McShea’s 70.56 average placed him 18th in the Nation. Argentine Freshman Segundo Oliva Pinto was the individual medalist at the 2019 CAA Men’s Golf Championship held at Pinehurst No. 8. Segundo would go on to take medalist honors at the SEC Championship the following season. Peruvian Junior Patrick Sparks captured the 2023 CAA Individual Title shooting 11-under par. Former players Patrick Cover and Blake McShea currently have Korn Ferry Tour status, while alum Thomas Lilly has full status on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. Coach Bowden has guided his teams to the best scoring averages in program history the past four seasons! Following his coaching, the Seahawks team has recorded under par rounds half the time they’ve teed it up during his first five seasons at the helm. He has produced five players ranked inside the Top 75 in the nation in National Scoring Rating, two of which were ranked in the Top 20 (Oliva Pinto & McShea).Bowden’s players currently hold the record for Par 3, Par 4, and Par 5 scoring average and his teams hold the school record for both Par 4 and Par 5 scoring. His players have recorded 13 individual victories in addition to shooting a 61, 64, and thirteen 65s in Division I competition.The team has been named a GCAA All-Academic Team each year during his tenure and he has coached over 15 GCAA All-America Scholars. In 2021, his team recorded a 3.7 cumulative team GPA.

Assists players with the transition to their professional golf careers and with preparation for professional events. Players have competed on or are competing on the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, PGA Tour Latinoamerica, PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour China, MENA Tour, Challenge Tour and have played in the U.S. Open, United States Amateur, U.S. Junior Amateur, and U.S. Four Ball.
