In all of the many ways I work with people, there is one foundational principle: I believe that we all, at our core, are well, good, and deserving, and that by reflecting on and acting in alignment with who we really are, we can choose to live lives of peace, happiness, and deep-seated love. In the school system, this means working with young people to discover and nurture their own dreams, through building the skills, habits, and character traits that best reflect who they wish to be in the world. This also extends to working with teachers and staffs to build upon their strengths for maximum meaning, building relationships, and making greater impact in their own classrooms.Outside of the traditional classroom, my work extends to activism to bring more justice and equity to the community I work In. Areas of expertise: education, mentoring, adolescents and young adults, conflict resolution, peer education, leadership, college preparation and admissions, positive psychology, social awareness and responsibility, Spanish language, meditation, yoga and spirituality.

  I am a full-time classroom teacher in Language Arts, AVID, and Peer Education. I have also worked with staff as a resource provider for Restorative Practices and relationship building on campus and in the district, as well as teaching and advising a highly successful Peer Counseling program, in which older adolescents are trained to mentor and coach younger students. This program was recognized as a Golden Bell winner for the state of California in 2008.
