I am the CFO and Vice President of Administration for a regional roofing and construction company. Skyline has been around since 2006 and has grown significantly over the past five years. I am focused on strategy and creation of systems that will optimize financial and operational success.I am responsible for cash management, budgeting and strategic planning. I also oversee the sales department which has had record sales the last couple years.

I am the director of finance of auxiliary services which includes six business units with total revenues of approximately $60 million annually. I am responsible for all capital budgeting and financial project management. We are expanding services and upgrading facilities constantly. I am also responsible for the operating budget for each unit and managing expenses.

I work with business owners to create actionable business plans that drive business growth. I focus on financial management, cash flow creation and management and operational excellence. I help to cut through all the different things that can overwhelm a business owner and help them to concentrate on the most important actions that drive the financial results the owner wants and needs. My clients range in size from small single person companies to larger companies with between 50 - 100 employees. I provide interim CFO / VP of strategy services for companies that don't yet have those roles or are in a transition. I also create dynamic business plans for clients, helping clients raise capital from either investors or institutional lenders.

Rockbridge Area Community Services provides mental health, substance abuse and developmental disabilities services for the residents of Rockbridge and Bath County Virginia. I lead the finance and administration for the organization. Some major projects we are undertaking are an upgrade to our accounting system, creation of KPI's and dashboards for tracking, and transitioning to a new EHR (electronic health record) software system. We have also started a leasing programs for the fleet vehicles to help upgrade an ageing fleet without a huge capital investment. These program will help improve our reporting, analysis, and decision making based on up-to-date data and result in improved finanical proformance.

I advanced to this role to launch a new location for this research center, which specializes in the social effects of decisions by government, business, social change and environment. My scope encompasses strategically directing business, administration and operations. Previously, my title was Special Assistant to the Research Center Director.◆ Integrally contributed to capturing $40 million in government grants, by structuring business case presentation to develop innovative IP the CDC would use to track health concerns on a global scale.◆ Established framework to hire 20 Ph.D. researchers, 40+ post-doctoral researchers, as well as graduates and undergraduates.

I established this firm to counsel and advise $100K to $25 million businesses regarding strategic planning, business operations, marketing and branding, and financial management.◆ Positioned consultancy to become the region’s highest-revenue, single-owner firm. ◆ Built metrics indicating 45% revenue growth and 60% profit growth on average for client companies. At this time, I was directing marketing and sales of small to mid-sized business, franchises and commercial real estate valued from $100K to $15 million. Murphy is 1 of the largest business brokerage firms in North America. My role also involved conducting business valuations by analyzing financial statements, forecasting, creation of pro-forma financial statement, built financial models and NPV of cash flows. I consistently earned positive reviews from both buyers and sellers.◆ Drove portfolio growth 500% to $50M. ◆ Captured $1.5 million in 4 sales during height of the recession, despite lack of bank financing.

This role for $1.5 billion division of Corning, Inc. involved managing P&L for cable assemblies. I was responsible for driving profit improvement while managing product R&D, manufacturing, sales and marketing, as well as production and sales of existing products in 4 locations globally. Corning Cable was a leading global manufacturer of fiber optic communications system solutions for voice, data and video network applications.◆ Drove product line revenue from $24 million $34 million.◆ Captured 15% sales and 3% profitability increase realized through innovative marketing programs.◆ Achieved 10% cost reduction gained by moving production to Mexican plants, without compromising quality.◆ Captured $1.6 million savings and delivered 50% production growth by automating product lines in 3 plants.

Here, I provided the business planning group with market analyses, M&A targeting analysis, negotiation guidance and due diligence. I also created the annual strategic plan and presented it to the parent company. I collaborated with a private marketing group to build the wireless strategy.◆ Led analysis and turnaround strategy development that yielded $25 million revenue improvement and elevation to profit position for a Corning division in Europe in just 18 months. Negotiated $5 million divestiture of a manufacturing unit, and generated $1.5 million in cash flow. ◆ Instrumentally contributed to capturing $450 million agreement, which justified investment in the copper wire division, by conducting analysis and building presentation on developing target companies for JV or M&A.◆ Generated $1.5 million by structuring JV to meet demand for emergency surge capacity.

This distribution company provided domestically-produced natural gas and electricity to 3.3 million+ customers across 7 states. STEP was a rotational management training program in which students from top MBA schools gained financial and operational experience. I rotated between financial, electric distribution and natural gas.◆ Served as lead corporate finance analyst who consolidated and presented $900 million capital budget to executive leadership team, then administered the budget throughout the year.◆ In the market development department, prepared proposals for $32 million in acquisitions for new natural gas plants. These plans were approved and the projects planned for construction over the following 5 years.◆ Evaluated and wrote proposal for $350 million electric generation project.◆ Created and presented new safety procedures for 550 Ohio union employees at 8 operating sites.
