Customized approach for businesses and individuals, focusing on teens and adults with attention deficits (ADD) and learning disabilities (LD)* Work with client to determine issues which interfere with progress in the personal and professional environments* Develop a working action plan and set goals* Instill routines and patterns into the daily schedule to create a more organized, well-managed and prioritized lifestyle* Assist clients in developing and maintaining focus and concentration* Provide structure, support and encouragement* Create a safe haven for working on social skills* Facilitate the handling of issues associated with ADD/LD in the workplace* Conduct on-site visits and regular communication appointments* Evaluate progress and provide continual feedback* Hold trainings for community agencies and educational associations to increase awareness of ADD and LD within the school and workplace

Charged with reorganization of the Association, including defining the Board of Directors, collaborating with office manager, developing membership, planning and implementing a yearly conference, conducting a financial audit, and managing National Association accountability responsibilities.

The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is established in compliance with state and federal requirements under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B and Section 9A of the Revised School Code. The state establishes and maintains the advisory panel for the purpose of providing policy guidance with respect to special education and related services for children with disabilities in Michigan.

Conduct weekly observations of interns in the Special Education program.* Meet with interns and cooperating teachers on a regular basis to provide feedback.* Attend weekly meetings with field instructors to facilitate communication between the university and the schools.* Plan and conduct seminar sessions on topics relevant to special education teachers and students.* Support key instructors in mathematics and literacy methods course for students in Special Education Master's Program.* Evaluate students in the Special Education Master's Program.* Develop and implement recruitment efforts for diversity in the Mild Impairments Master's Program.* Organize application submission, review, and acceptance procedures.* Conduct ongoing assessment of program outcomes.

Technology Enhanced Learning Environments on the Web* Collaborate with Lansing School District principals and teachers to explain the purposes of the project, identify technology needs/preferences, and determine level of participation.* Coordinate and conduct professional development meetings.* Observe and support participating teachers at each site.* Coordinate evaluation efforts at all participating schools.* Participate in district-wide in-service and staff development meetings related to TELE-Web.* Supervise doctoral students in the areas of research and evaluation efforts.

Taught seminar sessions and course segments for the Special Education Master's Program students in Mathematics, Literacy and Learning Disabilities.

Meet with students with identified learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorder to address academic, organizational, and social issues related to professional schooling.* Provide support and education for faculty and staff in the area of teaching and learning.* Participate as a member of the Student Services Committee, Office of the Dean.* Consult with members of the Academic Programming and Student Services Office and faculty regarding accommodations for students with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder.* Facilitate exit interviews with students preparing to graduate from vet school and submit written report to the Dean and department chairs.

* Develop appropriate "academic support plan" for student-athletes with learning difficulties, identified learning disabilities or attention deficit disorders.* Meet with student on a consistent basis and continually monitor student's progress.* Assist with the implementation of realistic goal setting, study skills, time management strategies, organizational techniques, social skills, and self-advocacy.* Assist students with skill development in the content areas.* Conduct further assessment of students who are suspected of having learning disabilities.* Communicate information contained in learning plans to coaches, athletes, and academic staff.* Monitor and continuously re-evaluate student progress in classes making necessary changes as needed.* Serve as liaison between McBurney Disabilities Resource Center, professional health personnel, professors, and students with disabilities to better assist and meet students' academic and emotional needs.* Consult with athletic trainers about assessment issues, referrals for testing, and LD/ADD/ED information.* Speak with prospective UW athletes who have ADD/LD/ED during recruiting visits. Explain the services available, details of the programs, and describe the role support personnel play in the student's education.

Training System (NC PTS)* Technical Assistance Coordinator, The School of Education* Develop and supervise implementation of state-wide electronic information and communication system to support NC PTS technical assistance component.* Coordinate NC PTS Advisory Council meetings with project partners. * Coordinate Module Development Task Force for NC PTS summer telecourses. Also develop and present Collaboration Module to educational personnel who serve students with disabilities.* Consult with educators across the state on use of technology in teaching, research, and service via computer networks and electronic bulletin board servers.* Consult with partner schools on writing special project grant proposals for professional development, school improvement, group research, curriculum development, and/or assessment tools.* Provide leadership and direction for new partners joining the project and other state agencies wanting information for resource purposes.* Conduct staff development and training activities for public school teachers.* Develop and maintain partnership with project universities and businesses through collaborative investigation of interactive distance learning and multimedia courseware development.* Assist with the development of multi-media training products for public school personnel across the state.* Assist with the development and implementation of evaluation procedures to collect data on the effectiveness of the various NC PTS staff development and training activities.

* Design and manage self-contained/block resource classrooms with 2nd-8th grade students with learning disabilities, mental handicaps, behavioral/emotional handicaps, other health impairments, autism, Willie-M Syndrome, and Fragile X Syndrome.* Conduct educational testing of students for re-evaluation purposes and ongoing referrals for special education services.* Collaborate with parents to provide assessment information, educational and social progress of their children, and resources for at-home interventions.* Pinpoint needs, trends, and opportunities by building relationships and communicating regularly with administration, general educators and related school personnel.* Develop and pioneer the Regular Education Initiative Program in the 6th and 8th grade levels
