Dr. Kannan has taught and continues to teach (i) Big Data Technologies, (ii) Machine Learning and (iii) Database Management and Relational Databases. Dr. Kannan seeks to find useful applications in Financial services and Healthcare, BioInformatics in particular. Previously, Dr. Kannan was a technology strategy consultant, focusing exclusively on data driven solutions by integrating cloud computing, NLP, sentiment analysis, and advanced machine learning capabilities into traditional enterprise applications. Dr. Kannan started his work in semantic web while working on a DARPA project from 1988-1992. His work on distributed computing was recognized by TCOS IEEE and the Distributed AI Shell and was published in IEEE Expert 1992. Dr. Kannan holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, an M.S. Computer Science from West Virginia University, a Ph.D. in Physics from West Virginia University and an M.S. in Physics from University of Roorkee, India.
