This nonprofit means so much to me. Through our nationally recognized Freedom School program, I am able to use my skills to advocate for underserved children and their families. My duties run the gamut, as I'm sure anyone in the nonprofit sector can relate to. My main focus is to plan the day-to-day logistics for our summer program. This means I'm scheduling classes, coordinating food drop-off and service, overseeing transportation, recruiting volunteers and class leaders, hiring Servant Leader Interns, planning family enrichment nights, liaising between Randolph College staff and our Freedom School staff, scheduling and implementing team training and mental health check-ins, etc.

After planning, designing, and handcrafting everything for our own wedding, we were featured in many magazines and wedding websites. I started getting inquiries for my services and after a few years of event planning here and there, I decided to make it a business. I had the distinct pleasure of designing and planning in many states, so most of my pre-event coordination was done remotely, with my team only being at the site for the event weekend.

I started this business to keep agriculture relevant in a technology-driven world. Because rural America had slower access to the internet, I saw that there was also a lag in their understanding of how to utilize social media to diversify their income. I was able to teach weekend courses all over the East Coast, as well as speak at county and state fairs. Any farmers or ranchers who wanted more in-depth help, I took on as clients to do their web design, jump start their social media platforms, and brainstorm marketing strategies and events.

Outdoor Impressions specializes in outdoor living design and contracting. You may have seen our team on HGTV's Yard Crashers! I was originally hired to take charge of all social media, event planning, and content creation. After my first month, I was also given all customer care responsibilities. I managed a second office, was a liaison between contractors and customers, and built relationships with other community businesses.
