I am a Special Advisor on Inclusive Innovation and Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science. Yes, I am a Professor Emerita in Information Technology/Analytics as well. I have practical experience in tech ecosystem development and conduct research in health care IT, algorithmic & data bias, data curation.I work with industry professionals interested in retaining, sustaining and mentoring people of color in and to leadership roles via executive coaching, and career development. I was a Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE). My time at NSF resulted in the creation of the Minority Serving Institutions Research Expansion Program which reports HBCUs, HSIs and TCUPs, partnerships with cloud computing providers (Google, Microsoft and Amazon) and collaborative partnerships for CORE research. I also worked with the DCL on AI and FEAT, Smart Health and Biomedical Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Data Science, INCLUDES and others.I am an American Council on Education Fellow which involved my participation in an academic college review team to assess curricula offerings and leadership, diversity requirements and alignment to accreditation standards. I also investigated public-private-partnerships to create community infrastructure and sustainability among industry partners with a think-and-do tank. I visited 30 U.S. higher education institutions and several in Ghana to shadow members of executive leadership teams.
