I began my career at Neopets.com as a support representative in December of 2001. Very soon after I became concerned with our younger users safety after coming across an adult propositioning a child. After that particular situation was dealt with, I inquired how I could do more to help - and while directing the monitoring and support departments for several years, I did just that. My career has had a dual focus; overseeing the safety of our users on Neopets.com, Petpetpark,com (2008- 2014), and Monkeyquest.com (2011 - 2014) and running the Moderation and Support departments. Currently I run the CS and Moderation teams for Neopets.com, Jumpstart.com, SchoolOfDragons.com, ZooGuardians,com, and Neopets Island Builders. On a daily basis I am updating our filters to flag situations that may indicate cyberbullying, cutting and suicidal situations, potential pedophile situations, and any other Terms of Service violations. I have helped train our exceptional team of monitors for 19 years on what to do if they ever come across these situations (I wrote all of our training documents) and I handle all of the reporting to law enforcement when deemed appropriate.I have an excellent relationship with all of our other departments (content, programming, and legal for example) which is vital in our industry.
