The idea for my business goes back to the beginning of my recruiting career in Los Angeles which is where I discovered this great job that allowed me to help people with their careers, and businesses grow, by finding them outstanding talent. I offered direct-hire recruiting services at multiple levels of an organization that were seeking communication pros, marketers, restaurant management, sales people and IT/Developers. We filled other types of roles, but we did more of those that I mentioned than others.

PC specializes in creative staffing and recruiting. I led the team responsible for client relationships and talent search and was held accountable for revenue generation. We successfully placed a whole lot of people every year at some of the biggest companies in Columbus. "Creative" included designers, writers, project managers, digital marketers, developers and more. I was a member of the leadership team that grew the business from a total team of five (including me) to, at one time, 18 people with an additional office in Pittsburgh. I was responsible for hiring and growing a recruiting team (as many as 8) to deliver on high expectations while providing exceptional service to both talent and clients. I participated in many association conferences, leadership development programs and culture defining initiatives.

I managed all aspects of recruitment and hiring for the Interactions business unit and the Learning automotive business. Interactions specialized in experiential marketing, consumer events, business meetings, strategic marketing communications and promotional campaigns. Learning focused on training and education.I had previously worked at a variety of small businesses and wanted to experience a corporate environment. The HR Director at Maritz, while I was working at the search firm, BVK, asked me if I knew anyone who might be interested in their open Talent Acquisition Manager role. The next day I had a good idea and a week later I had a new job.

BVK is an executive search firm specializing in advertising, marketing and publishing sales. Geographically strongest in the Southern California market. I concentrated on searches in the areas of account management, project management and media planning at advertising agencies, marketing firms and within corporate marketing departments.I loved working with Roger, Cathie, Buzz and the BVK team. Great people. Office in Manhattan Beach. Improving the lives of others. I'd do it all again.

I worked on long-term and short-term production opportunities at entertainment-oriented companies. I hustled.

I worked on various production assignments that included commercial production, corporate event production and new business prospecting for a commercial video production company. I got to do some really fun work with pros.

In 1992, ReDo Magazine was launched in Columbus and I was responsible for advertising sales, editorial content and oversaw distribution of the free publication. Made a magazine. Learned more in this job than any one prior.

The Dayton Apartment Guide started in 1990 and was distributed for free throughout Dayton, Ohio. I worked here while attending The Ohio State University. I was responsible for acquiring and maintaining these crucial distribution points. This meant that I drove all over Dayton. The biggest obstacle I had to overcome was that I lived in Columbus when I began and didn't know my way around Dayton at all. That would quickly change.

This graphic design firm grew from a sixteen person to a thirty-five person operation that became a general advertising agency by the time of my departure. I worked here while attending The Ohio State University. As an Account Executive (after being promoted from Assistant Account Executive), I managed accounts that included the manufacturing, real estate, medical and travel categories. I bought three suits for the role and figured I was as professional as they come. I had a lot to learn.
