FoAM is a network of transdisciplinary labs at the intersection of art, science, nature and everyday life. FoAM’s members are generalists - people who work across disparate fields in an entangled, speculative culture. Research and creative projects at FoAM combine elements of futurecrafting, citizen science, prototyping, experience design and process facilitation to re-imagine possible futures and artistic experiments. COCKY EEK's work mainly revolves around lightweight spatial compositions in which we experience that we don’t move through space, but where space moves through us..........................COCKY EEK studied Fashion Design in the Netherlands, France and Italy and set off to realize a number of experimental 'wearable' collections. Collaborative work with Maria Blaisse led to a nomination for the Dutch Design Awards. Through the years her favorite materials became wind and air and she began designing lightweight spatial compositions, floating or flying experiments and large, voluminous forms. As a member of FoAM [Brussels] she developed with scientists and media designers spatial designs for responsive environments. She co-founded FoAM [Amsterdam] and their urban foraging project Boskoi received a Prix Ars Electronica Honorary Mention in 2011. In 2012 she created Sphaerae, an inflatable multi-dome pavilion for immersive and synaesthetic experiences. Since then, Sphaerae is being shown on a growing number of international renowned festivals. Since 2013 Cocky Eek co-created three theatrical pieces; Blaas, Erf and Curve with Schweigman&.
