Position: IT Manager Role: Overseeing a team of 17 Developers for a company in the wholesale travel business. Role included • Assist with software architecture over multiple systems • Software Development in PHP, C# and Python. • Managing developers based in Australia (most working from Home), New Zealand, India and South America. • Hiring of new developers • Maintaining of the I.T. budget. • Purchases of new equipment. • Approval of contractor invoices. • Overseeing development processes both SCRUM and Kanban across multiple teams • Consultation with directors • Escalation point for major issues or outages. • Creating documentation for research and development grants • Salary negotiations Achievements: • Creation of a budget process, previous to my being in the role there was no budget as such for I.T. I introduced and implemented a budget and centralised all I.T. spending records. • Implementation of a centralised documentation system and standards for the creation of documentation. • Introduced correct development, documentation and testing procedures to a subsidiary company. • Renegotiated a large hosting and development contract 500K plus with a third party company removing ambiguity from the existing contracts. • Started implementation of a disaster recovery system using systems outside of Australia based on Google Cloud. • Implemented a time recording system based on Timetrex to allow the capture of holidays etc. for remote staff. • Significantly reduced the SAP support and Development costs by organising the employment of a Indian SAP developer. • Designed a grid based rate management concept to replace the existing difficult to manage group based system.

Position: Lead programmer,Role: Developing an online travel packages reservation system for one of the largest travel wholesalers in Australia. Technologies used include PHP, MYSQL JavaScript and HTML. Subversion was used as the source code control system. During my employment at I.T. Basecamp I have implemented the SCRUM Agile Process Achievements: • Introduced unit testing with PHPUnit. • Setup continuous integration using Jenkins. • Introduced Business Object Style OO Programming. • Converted code base to Doctrine2 ORM from in line SQL scripts • Developed the Booking fulfilment code. • Created front end as a one page style application using backbone.js , JQuery and Bootstrap. communications to server is implemented in a REST style using Symfony2 as the Routing component. • Moved the code base from Subversion to GIT and GIT HUB. • Moved the Code base to the Symfony2 platform. • Implemented SCRUM and performed Scrum Master duties. • All work based on a LAMP Stack.

Position: Network Management EngineerRole: Maintenance, Creation and Installation of network monitoring software for Large Multi-National Enterprises. Achievements: • Architected and developed a system for backing up the configuration of enterprise level multi-vendor networking equipment. This software written in Perl backed by a MYSQL database was used globally to back up networking equipment in mines, steel works, chemical factories. It was designed to run parallel tasks and only store configuration that had changed. The software supported backing up equipment from many different vendors and different models. Each device was interrogated using SNMP then a specific module was loaded to perform the backup or restore process. Backup could be done via SNMP, telnet, ssh or a combination. One installation could support multiple customers handling volumes of greater than 10,000 devices. • Architected and developed a system for single sign on Authentication for networking products. This software I wrote in Perl with an LDAP (IBM Directory Server) back end allowed network engineers to access network management services servicing different customers using the same user name and password. this system was replicated between several LDAP servers on different continents. Communication between the central server and the distributed servers was via SOAP using SOAP::Lite. • Managed the development of a remote Indian development team of four people in the maintenance and feature addition of the CSC global Network Inventory System. Written in Perl this system was used by 5,000 Plus Network Engineers and hosted on six servers that where distributed world wild. Replication occurred via the underlying Oracle database. Written before I joined I was responsible for the architecture direction to move this legacy application to new “Modern Perl” and Web Standards. This included moving to Template toolkit, DBIx:Class, Unit testing including Selenium testing.
