Ohai.ai is the AI personal assistant for everyone. Leveraging a unique AI-powered assistant backed by human oversight, Ohai is helping families and others offload the cognitive load of managing their everyday lives. The AI is powered by the GPT-4 family of LLMs combined with home grown machine learning models working together to understand user intent, optimize human oversight and intervention, and ensure correctness. Members can talk to O with a simple text message, or by emailing O a school newsletter or document, or via the web or the upcoming mobile app.

This new team serves as an emerging technology engine for the newly formed Consumer Experiences & Platforms group inside DMED Technology. Our engineers are part R&D team and part engineering augmentation, bringing deep platform and software engineering expertise to accelerate product roadmaps alongside core engineering teams.

In this role, I now run the product management teams for the systems that help the Walt Disney Company monetize and distribute our content to all of our partners around the world. This includes Disney's programming/scheduling/broadcast management systems, our front-of-house billing and contract systems for our affiliate and content sales businesses, and the content supply chain used to master, service, and distribute our content internally to services like Disney+ and Hulu as well as to partners like Amazon, Netflix, and Apple. This team consists of technical product managers/product owners and designers. I also have the privilege of managing our Content Technology team which lives at the intersection of storytelling and technology - these are full stack, experienced software engineers with a creative mindset and technical artists who innovate to help our content teams create new workflows and tools to tell better stories or visualize data in innovative ways.

At Walt Disney DTCI, we build the experiences that distribute Disney content out to the world in our apps, television, or other experiences. My teams build the platforms that allow our customer facing applications to get their content and data, whether that's * editorial content, scores, and election results from our newsrooms & writers at ABC News and ESPN, or* short-form, long-form, and linear video content from ABC, ESPN, the Disney Channel, or * the digital homes for Star Wars, Marvel HQ, and Disney.comIf there's a consumer facing media-related application at The Walt Disney Company, odds are my teams help make it happen. We build CMSes, Push Notification Delivery, high performance personalization systems, data APIs, metadata systems, experience management platforms, and so much more.

I manage the teams that build the platforms that power the consumer products for ESPN, ABC, ABC News, and the Walt Disney Company.

I lead the Platform Engineering team for the Software Engineering department at ESPN. I manage a team of of about 70+ software engineers spread across several functions. These teams can broadly be grouped into two buckets: 1. software engineers that build APIs and backend services that power all of our consumer facing experiences from mobile apps to fantasy games; and 2. software engineers that provide dev ops capabilities in support of internal development teams across all of ESPN Technology.These teams have developers in Bristol, London, and Bangalore, India, as well as several remote employees.Key products in our portfolio:- ESPN.com's infrastructure, including cloud deployment and migration of services to cloud providers- ESPN Fantasy Games (game engines & databases)- ESPN Mobile Alert/Push Notification delivery (preference management & integrations with delivery systems)

Built the mobile app development team at ESPN. Responsible for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and other smartphone application development in ESPN Digital Media. Manage server-side engineering team as well.

Was responsible for the development and architecture of all of Fanzter's products until 2008. Products launched included a Facebook application called OneThing and Coolspotters.com, Fanzter's flagship product.Primary technologies included Ruby on Rails, Java (Solr, Jetty), Perl, PHP, Linux, and loads of other scripting languages for little tools, experimental projects. We used SVN & CruiseControl for code and test management, and EC2 for deployment of everything.

The team I manage maintains, improves, and builds the services that power ESPN.com. I also spend a significant amount of time experimenting, developing, and deploying prototype applications to test out new ideas or improve existing ones.
