I have experience in promoting, maintaining, and restoring healthy cognitive, physical, and emotional development for children while working cooperatively and efficiently in a team setting. I believe in establishing a safe, warm, nurturing environment that stimulates a child’s natural interests and helps children develop autonomy, self-esteem, self-discipline, self-regulation, communication skills, and a passion for learning. I believe that children can reach their full developmental capacity through constructing their own knowledge through inquiry play rather than through transmission learning (worksheets, memorization, etc.). I believe that children learn best through discovery (inquiry play) and saturation. I encourage the children I work with to communicate their individual interests to me which then guides our social interactions and it allows them to feel a sense of security and attachment which then leads to trust and a willingness to cooperate and learn. I believe children must be given choices each day to engage in both indoor and outdoor activities that are structured based on all different senses. I strongly believe that every child has the capability to be extraordinary and that every child achieves success in their own way. To help children excel emotionally, cognitively, socially, and physically I meet each child where they are at and I help them discover their strengths so they can properly grow and develop.
