Science, specifically human biology, has been my favorite class since I was a little girl. Through my high school years, I took every human biology course that was offered. So the choice to study biomedical science in college seemed like the natural pathway to take.In college, my love for biology was solidified. I enjoyed every one of my classes, even through the late night study sessions and difficult exams. Through these classes I found my love for microbiology. I found all of the bacteria and viruses fascinating. I loved learning how they work, whether they are beneficial or harmful, how different medications worked on different pathogens: pretty much anything you can think of, I loved studying it. This is also where I found my love of being in the lab. I loved streaking and growing bacteria, performing gram stains, and identifying bacteria through a microscope. Those four hour labs felt like they went by in the blink of an eye. This is why I am looking for a career in laboratory science. I genuinely love the work. I have enough lab experience so that I could make my way around a lab, but I want to learn more. I want to grow as a laboratory worker so that I know the ins and outs of everything in a lab. I know that I can bring my passion and drive into any lab that I work for. All I need is a place to start.
