With a degree in Agriculture Journalism from South Dakota State University I have spent the last 20 years working for newspapers in South Dakota, specifically covering news related to the agricultural industry. I am passionate about providing news to those who work and live in the agriculture sector so they may better their operations. Promoting those people/businesses is also a perk with many of the feature stories I have been blessed to write. I have managed news teams of 3-5 people and have helped facilitate working relationships between the editorial department and graphic design department.Media skills include: Feature writing/editing, hard news writing/editing, press release writing, social media, online content, budget management, and personnel management.Additionally, I am the 5th generation to be running cattle on our family farm/ranch operation in western South Dakota. We have a commercial cow/calf operation and a small feedlot for backgrounding and developing calves. We raise most of our own feedstuffs including corn, alfalfa, prairie hay, and some millet and sorghum from time to time.
