Growing up, I have been a member of clubs like 4-H, the FFA, KAYS club, SADD, and lived/worked on a farm. In the past I've had experience being Beef Quality Certified, and I am currently a certified Hunters Education Instructor since 2017.I am a graduate of Kansas State University, B.S. in Agronomy with an emphasis in Range Management as of December 2018. I have been focusing my career towards involvement with conservation efforts, mainly with the Grassland areas of Kansas. While there, I have been involved with The Wildlife Society (3yrs), the Wheat State Agronomy Club (2yrs), Audacity Acapella group (0.5yr), and the KSU Marching Band (3yrs). Last couple years of undergrad, I work on campus for Kansas Mesonet Weather Data Research. I have spent my summers doing landscaping, working as a ranch hand, and last summer as an Intern at the Land Institute working for scientists from all parts of the globe. I have had a variety of experience in different areas of Agricultural. The summer of 2017, I gained another perspective by taking part in an International Service Team and worked on Sea Turtle Conservation efforts in West Africa. I helped them with their permacultural practices, including making bio-char, utilizing rain water reservoirs, and using Moringa trees as organic fence. Since graduation, I have volunteered at the KDWPT in Emporia, KS. When I lived in the area, I kept myself busy as a para educator at William Allen White Elementary gaining new perspectives, problem-solving techniques, connections with people and students. In 2020 I got a Range Con job working out of the Emporia Field Office (FO) for NRCS. It's great & I have loved working at a job that makes me feel like I'm doing good for people and the land. To get a better view on NRCS as an Agency and improve my conservation planning skills, I took the Soil Conservationist position for the Belleville FO. Additionally I moved myself and 2 cats in to my boyfriend's house with his 2 dogs. I have created a home here with him and our fur-babies among the community, though not immovable. I have gained a lot of experience in creating a sense of belonging anywhere I go, so my boyfriend and I are definitely making plans to move for work as jobs come up.

I quite literally help people the land, like the agency moto says. Some days I'm on the 4-wheeler surveying/inventory natural rangeland or pasture land. Then I'll take that info back and make maps and conservation plans to help producers & landowners work smarter, not harder on their land. Making it more productive and sustainable for the soil, biotic.
