Chief Deputy, Clerk And Recorder
CurrentResponsible for decision-making in the absence of the County Clerk and Recorder and in conjunction with division deputies, and ensures all decisions are compliant with existing Department and County guidelines as well as State Statute.Identifies opportunities for improving customer service delivery methods, operations, policy, and standard operating procedures, identifies resource needs, obtains approval for and implements improvements as needed/required. Manages and coordinates projects that affect departmental operations, keeps informed of the latest developments in best practices, methods, techniques, equipment and facilities affecting all aspects of the Clerk & Recorder department.Prepares annual and probationary performance evaluations for managerial, supervisory and administrative staff members and conducts individual post-evaluation conferences with same; Provides assistance to deputies and supervisors in the formation of their individual performance goals.Main department contact for personnel matters. Manages and monitors employee action plans and disciplinary actions for all department employees; Provides support in the resolution of problem situations and ensures actions taken are consistent across divisions; Serves as a liaison between employees and Human Resource department in personnel matters; Keeps Clerk & Recorder apprised of disciplinary actions and areas of concern with employees; Works with Project Coordinator to ensure all documentation is filled out and filed in personnel records and with Human Resources.As needed, attends State-wide seminars and conferences. In the absence of, or at the direction of the Clerk, represents the Clerk at meetings or local affairs.Assures compliance with department policies and procedures as established by the Clerk, division deputies and State Statute.
