Cody Lee Coyer, MSW, LADC, is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and provides services at our outpatient office in Bemidji, MN, but supervises staff across multiple sites. Cody is the Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program Clinical Supervisor. Cody is a graduate from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and holds a master’s degree in clinical social work. Cody received his undergraduate degree from Bemidji State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Social Work, and Minors in both Chemical Dependency and Psychology. He has experience working in both residential and outpatient programs providing services for substance use disorder treatment. Cody facilitates an outpatient substance use disorder treatment program and provides both group and individual treatment services within the communities of northern Minnesota, as well as clinical supervisor duties with staff, clients, and community members across sites. He is also actively involved in, and serves as a treatment provider with the Beltrami county DWI court program, Beltrami Drug court program, and Clearwater county DWI court program. Cody provides both group and individual treatment counseling, psychoeducation, coping skill development, peer support, treatment coordination, case management, referrals, collaboration, as well as comprehensive assessments to screen for and diagnose substance use disorders in compliance with DSM-V criteria and pursuant to MN chapter 9530.6622, and finally with appropriate risk ratings pursuant to the Minnesota matrix. Cody provides services through an individualized, person-centered continuity of care. With evidence based best practices, his own personal history of substance use disorder and the criminal justice system, as well as empirically-based treatment modalities and clinical interventions informing his approach with clients, families, and the community that he serves and advocates for, to engage and strive for in recovery.
