I am currently a mechanical engineer working for Corning Inc. I started with Corning as an intern in 2021 working as an equipment engineer intern in the environmental division where I had the opportunity to work on projects to improve the manufacturing of ceramics used to make catalytic converters. After I graduated, I started my current full time role in July 2022 in the fiber optic division.I graduated from the University of South Alabama in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering with a concentration in aerospace engineering. I also received a minor in mathematics.During my time at the University of South Alabama I was a part of several projects. In the fall semester of my freshman year I worked on research with the chemistry and mechanical engineering departments concerning the 3D printing of ionic liquids as well as doing mechanical testing on samples printed with ionic liquids mixed into 3D printing resin. In the spring semester of my sophomore year I worked on a 2U cubesat before my university transitioned to remote learning. During my senior year classes were in person, and I worked on a 3D printed remote-controlled ground-based vehicle for my senior design project as well as a remote-controlled aircraft for my aircraft design class. In the future I will be pursuing a Masters with the goal of eventually obtaining a PhD in aerospace engineering. I have not yet decided on what I would like to study for my Masters but it will either be related to mathematics or engineering. During my senior year and South I passed the FE exam for mechanical engineering and one day would like to receive my PE in mechanical engineering.Outside of academia and work I have a few personal projects that keep me busy. When searching for my current role I used python to scrape jobs from LinkedIn, give the job description a score based on how well my skill sets fit into it, and email me a spreadsheet containing this information. I have also used python to pull historical crypto data and backtest various trading algorithms. This was used to create an algorithmic trading bot that utilizes the Binance API to trade Ethereum.
