Lead and coordinate a team of 9 operations and maintenance personnel consisting of Indoor Air Quality Technicians, Industrial Plumbers, and Service Maintenance Workers. This team covers 30 buildings on the South side of Purdue Universities historic West Lafayette Campus. The scope of work includes maintaining a wide array of facilities that advance Purdue Universities world class education and research. The scope of my facilities knowledge ranges from state of the art medical care facilities and the groundbreaking Hypersonic Applied Research Facility to legacy pneumatic control systems and early 1900's facilities. As the Chairman I am responsible for coordinating the meetings of 12 Zones Maintenance Crews that maintain Purdue Universities West Lafayette campus. This team addresses safety action items brought forth from Carpenters, Electricians, Indoor Air Quality Technicians, Industrial Plumbers, and Service Maintenance Workers. Initiatives include creating OSHA mandated Hazard Assessments, investigating injury reports, and many others.

The Safety Steering Team plays a key role in the administration of safety action items across several business units within the Purdue University Administrative Operations Department. These units are comprised of Building Services, Grounds, Operations and Maintenance, Parking and Transportation, Operations and Maintenance, and Utilities Distribution. My responsibilities include representing the needs of the Operations and Maintenance Zones Safety Team and performing various duties within the purview of the elected vice chairman role. The vice chairman conducts meetings in the absence of the chairman and coordinates and participates in various initiatives as the need arises.

As an Indoor Air Quality Technician (SK1.2), my primary responsibility is to ensure that the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in the buildings I work on are operating effectively and efficiently. This includes performing preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, changing filters, lubricating bearings, and inspecting belts.With my completion of the first two training modules, my job tasks are more independent, and I am expected to take on additional responsibilities. For example, I am now able to recalibrate thermostats, conduct static pressure profiles, and have a high level of understanding of steam and hydronic systems.The HVAC systems I work on are quite diverse, ranging from modern fan coil units to air handlers that are over 70 years old. I need to be able to operate and maintain both modern Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems and older pneumatic control systems.To be successful in this role, I need to have a strong willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. I must be able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the journeyman technicians.Ultimately, my goal is to ensure that the HVAC systems in the buildings I maintain are running smoothly and that the indoor air quality is healthy and safe for the occupants. This will require me to use a variety of equipment and tools to monitor air quality, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions as needed. By doing so, I will help ensure Purdue University Operations and Maintenance meets its goals in facilities stewardship and customer satisfaction.

Ensure the cleanliness, safety and appearance of assigned buildings in accordance with established standards. Plan and coordinate daily work assignments to cover vacancies, provide continuous delivery of services, and ensure equitable distribution of work. Train, coach, support, and supervise 12 custodians in 10 mixed animal hospital, research, and teaching facilities covering over 150,000 square feet. Interface with customers to resolve problems and complaints and respond to queries. Maintain an inventory of custodial tools, supplies and equipment and maintain on-site administrative records. Perform custodial duties to cover vacancies, absences or special requests. Required to respond to campus crises situations to enhance public safety and minimize infrastructure damage.

Supports the Indianapolis Navy Reserve detachment of Submarine Group 8 and its mission to provide support to Commander Task Force 69 in theater anti-submarine warfare and broadcast authority.As an Information Systems Technician (Submarines) First Class Petty Officer my role is to work on communications systems, information technology, and cryptography. As the unit training LPO my role is to ensure enlisted qualifications and training requirement records are documented and recorded. I am also the unit urinalysis program coordinator, trusted to ensure the proper and adequate testing procedures are implemented for the Navy Reserves drug testing and prevention program. Serving as a command Uranalysis Program Coordinator (UPC) trusted to ensure the proper and adequate testing procedures are implemented for the Navy Reserves drug testing and prevention program.

Support the mission of Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) of over 300 Selected Reserve Sailors in 10 diverse units. As the Board Secretary I manage the operations and conduct of MWR meetings providing suggestions and facilitating the implementation of key ideas to assist our mission.

Earned a NAM (Navy Achievement Medal) for my work with designing and installing a professional quality open microphone system aboard the ship. This system was designed to improve upon established shipboard communications circuits and provide the officer of the deck and control room supervisors the ability to communicate with watch standers in the radio and sonar rooms. I was also working as a project manager as the sail coordinator ensuring all work controls between the shipyard and ship where established and followed. I earned a second NAM for my accomplishments regarding my work as sail coordinator and ships publication change checklist coordinator. I also served as a radioman of the watch, responsible for shipboard communications during this period.

Earned my Submarine Warfare designation (SS) as a trusted member of the crew I had the responsibility of understanding and combatting all forms of shipboard causalities including fires and flooding. At this time I was also a qualified ESM operator (Electronic warfare Support Measures) trusted to monitor and process radio and radar signals for relevant information and reports. This period of time also included an Interim Dry-Docking period (IDD) where the ship was undergoing scheduled maintenance at Electric Boat Shipyard.

Advanced in paygrade by time in rate. In training for my submarine warfare qualification and learning various jobs and responsibilities around the ship. At this point I have started to perform basic damage control responsibilities including atmosphere monitoring and causality assistance. Went on several pre-shipyard underways and availabilities including a COM2X (Composite Unit Training Exercise), SCC Ops (Submarine Command Course), and a CNO maintenance availability.

Graduated Electronics Technician Submarine Communications "A" school.Reported for assignment with radio division aboard the USS Montpelier in Dubai, UAE for the remaining 4 months of the 6 month 2015 deployment, stopping once more in Toulon, France prior to our transition back across the Atlantic area of operation. Upon returning to homeport in Norfolk, VA assisted the ship in preparation and execution of the ORSE (Operational Reactor Safeguard Examination).
