I believe that well-trained employees are happy employees. I started my journey into the Learning and Development world in 2016 when I began training new employees for my home office at VipPetcare, here in Fresno, CA. Soon after that, I began traveling to offices around the country to help with their training and staffing needs. It was in 2019 that my L&D career began. I started a new position with the company. In that role, I led classes of new staff members through an intensive 4-week training program that included in-person instructor-led, experiential, and webinar training. I was responsible for arranging airfare, accommodations, meals, and transportation for up to 12 employees per session. With the hit of Covid in early 2020, it was apparent that eLearning and instructor-led webinars would play much more of a role in our employee training and onboarding. I played a significant role in converting the 4-week training course from an in-person, webinar, and experiential format into a self-paced guided eLearning and blended learning format. I created more than 30 new eLearning courses using Articulate authoring software. Concurrently, I began using my newly learned Instructional Design skills to create engaging eLearning courses and training programs for new company projects, products, and initiatives. I am passionate about what I do. I believe in creating a safe, productive, and fun environment for everyone where learners thrive. Whether I deliver training in person, through webinars, or create self-paced eLearning content, I strive to provide the best experience for the learner based on what works for them.
