As a student at Ferris State University, I have developed a passion for learning and growth. With a focus on Welding Engineering, I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to real-world challenges. Prior to my schooling at Ferris, I worked at BENLEE roll-off trailers as a shop hand in their servicing department, learning hands-on skills like welding, cutting, and fabrication. This experience has given me a deeper understanding of the welding industry and provided me with practical knowledge that I can apply in my future career. This past summmer I had the incredible opportunity to go work at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA as a Welding Engineering Intern. I had the chance to work on some amazing projects in support for the construction and refueling of our navy’s Nuclear Aircraft Carriers and Submarines. This experience really helped me grow and I am absorbing every little bit of knowledge so that I can jumpstart my sophomore year with even more competencies. I am eager to continue building my experience portfolio and growing my skill set.
