Focused, passionate, detailed, and the willingness to accept criticism are some characteristics that have aided my personal development and are cornerstones of continual self-improvement. Throughout my schooling and professional career I have been fortunate to have several outstanding, accomplished mentors that have helped me develop a variety of skills and capabilities that are useful to setting and achieving goals. I have learned that success is the result of detailed planning, superior colleague development and ultimately leadership that leads to individual and teams being placed in a strong position to perform. Planning is understanding of both what you know and what you do not know. Leveraging strengths and protecting against weakness or vulnerabilities are keys to being successful in turning a plan into reality.Superior colleague development is providing training and support that goes beyond the minimum requirements to perform a specific job or task. Encouraging colleague communication, cross training among roles, and empowering individuals or departments to make responsible decisions are necessary elements of a strong group of people that can achieve their goals.Leadership is a concept that can take on many forms, however, I believe that for those in supervisory or management roles a strong leader embodies ideals that include battling for and defending the individuals in your team(s) in order to get them the resources required to produce the desired results - with the understanding that if they are setup to succeed so will you.
