My first experience in management was as a sales manager at Vector Marketing. The role demanded consistency and a positive mindset in the face of specific challenges: maintaining moral, and a high turn over rate. Moral injury (aka burnout) is real. In an attempt to "hack" my own mind, I tried techniques like positive affirmations, "power poses," and the visualization technique. Working for Vector Marketing is now a core memory. It taught me much about the importance of one's own mindset.I attribute my success not only to my hard work and dedication, but also from the quality of the connections I make. "Connected: The Surprising Power of Our Social Networks and How They Shape Our Lives" (2009), by Christakis and Fowler, states that we are making decisions in groups, but without making those decisions consciously. There are forces in nature driving our decisions that we are just now starting to recognize, and I believe goodwill and virtue are critical to sustaining the system. To me and many others, The world is at a crossroads. We know we have hard choices to make. Some of them are already being made for us. And the decision laid out before us is to connect or not. I believe that the entrepreneur has a duty to integrate and connect in order to make the world a better place, and that the new paradigm upon us should be build upon on a deeper understanding of connection in the world. We must have difficult, but authentic, conversations about our wants, desires, and expectations, for the sake of future generations. Our predecessors didn't consider sustainability as a growth factor because of ignorance. They were convinced that the world had infinite abundance; however, the more we've connected, the more we have learned.I am working with leaders in the music and event space industries to create what we call "sonic experiences" in order to facilitate connection. I believe that the intention of the vibrations being created positively influence the quality of the space and experience of the user. Additionally, I am working with Polish Furniture Manufacturers to create and curate pieces and spaces for people to experience connection.I desire to talk about connection in all its different forms. If you read my thoughts on my blog or we work together, you will see that I am driven by this desire, and authentically. I have a solution-oriented mindset and choose to see the world coming at me as a wave of potential. I believe that there is nothing we cannot do, and that by connecting, all of our problems can be solved.
