Human Computer Interaction Lab

My first project while working in the lab was called Learning and Forgetting. Learning and Forgetting is a menu system study that was developed to see how well people remembered keyboard short cuts and different gestures. I was in charge of converting the old Point and Click study to work with the new parameters, as well as update all of the deprecated code. This project was primarily done in JavaScript using many different Node.JS modules.I am currently working on a Full Coverage Display study. We are trying to see how people navigate in these systems, and see if they are more effective than their monitor counterparts. Using a Python API I have created the system over the last several months and will be conducting the study throughout the school year.

After high school I fell in love with large equipment and decided to join a trade I knew nothing about. As a child I was constantly tinkering with things, from tearing apart microwaves to every other thing my parents would allow me to essentially destroy. so naturally I felt that this trade would be the perfect fit. I still value the experience that I gained while working and going to school to become a journeyman mechanic. I still miss working outdoors and being able to get my hands dirty from time to time. Though I enjoyed my work for the most part I felt that this was not going to be the career I wanted to grow old in. The summer of 2013 I decided to shake up my life and peruse my dream of making video games.
