Business Strategy, Operations and Finance consultant for startup mezcal company.

During my time as an intern at Bain & Co. I worked on two distinct projects. For my first project, I developed a down-cycle hedging strategy for Private Equity fund looking to invest in heavy-equipment manufacturing. For my second project, I built relocation strategy for a high-tech company's R&D team that optimized productivity and minimized cost, resulting in productivity gains and cost savings of up to $100 MM.

As a Senior Associate I devised the strategic direction for claims payment analysis projects. Mentored teams of up to 8 Associates through direct coaching and skills development and by developing individually tailored career development plans for each Associate. I aggregated financial audit results into actionable process improvements for hospital C-suites and Senior Management. I identified, pitched and created buy-in from project Partners to sell additional business lines to our clients. I conducted in depth interviews and primary research to ascertain best process for implementing a solution and to gain customer buy-in so actions would be implemented. I developed KPIs for the firm's internal Medicare team and developed custom reporting to reflect team's affects on firm's overall profitability. I served as an active leader in the firm's Green Action Team with efforts resulting in consecutive rankings as #1 Environmentally Conscious consulting firm in Vault's top 50 for 3 consecutive years.

As an Associate I performed comprehensive payment reviews of Commercial contracts, Medicaid and Medicare fee schedules for several of the nation’s largest hospital systems. I leveraged advanced skills in analytical modeling and data mining in Access/Visual SQL platforms and Excel to identify and recover payment discrepancies for hospital systems. I also served as an internal knowledge specialist on Medicare payment practices and audit techniques. I analyzed large data sets to identify revenue cycle errors and recover unrealized revenue, then helped draft recommendations for hospital CFOs to capture that revenue independently going forward. During one engagement I developed an algorithm that identified over $25 Million in lost revenue across multiple clients. I strategized the solution and collaborated with other team leaders and firm leadership to address the issue organization wide in an efficient and results-oriented approach.

Instructed and guided backpacking, kayaking, rock climbing, surfing and snowboarding expeditions with up to 10 participants throughout the West Coast of the US and Baja, Mexico. Served as primary company representative to customer base and as first response to customer issues or complaints. Set-up product database and managed team of 10 employees.

Helped plan and market 3-week business exchange between young Arab and American business executives to promote greater cultural understanding and improve the image of the U.S. through better business engagement and practices.
