Investigating how middle and high school professional developments help different schools succeed in integrating computer science into teacher's classrooms. I do this by supporting a small Operations Team at Code.org. Most of my day-to-day task revolve around tracking and spreadsheets.

The goal at Google Maps is to produce high quality visual data structures at the city, state, and and county scale. This involves creating polygons, polylines and node segments for routability; troubleshooting data models to render properly on maps front end; and running weekly test for systematic errors before data launch. At the end of the day, the work done at Google Map is meant to integrate seamlessly into a user's experience, providing a service that allows individuals the power to get up and go!

I taught recently arrived immigrants the basic building blocks of our democracy and American history. The class was designed to help adult learners navigate the test that decides their fates as U.S. citizens. The team of volunteer teachers broke down complex ideas such as Checks and Balances or the Three Branches of Government and communicated them to a diverse group of students. Overall this experience taught me the great privilege it is to be born a U.S. citizen and barriers of communication can be overcome when common goals are set.

University Of Washington

In this position I worked for a University of Washington Department of Oceanography laboratory focusing on emerging pollutants in the puget sound region. The lab used Mass-spectrometers to isolate chemical compounds from citizen collected water samples, and then aggregated the data to identify trends over time. Most of the chemicals were introduced through sewer systems, but others such as drier sheets entered the precipitation cycle and then the water cycle. Interesting findings were that vanilla and cinnamon spike in spring and winter occurring with increase consumption of ice cream cones and christmas cookies. My responsibilities at SoundCizten included: responding to communication, outreach at community events and knowledge fairs, initial water sample intake, pre-filtering water samples, compound extraction, and various other office responsibilities.
