Executive Director
Barre Area Development, Inc.
Barre, Vermont, United States
In this role, I oversaw day-to-day operations of a nonprofit economic development corporation serving two communities. Coming off a 33% budget cut shortly before my arrival, a top priority was to regain trust in the organization from both municipal funding partners. My efforts resulted in multiple years of budget cuts being reversed, turning into budget increases, the creation of a supplemental revenue source, and expanded programming. In collaboration with community partners, we secured over $5.9 million in federal funds for critical infrastructure projects and provided business assistance that helped create 30+ manufacturing and hospitality jobs. We were also proud to partner with a local high school and The Barre Partnership, Barre's downtown organization, to provide internship opportunities to three high school students. Two of which went on to attend the University of New Hampshire's Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.
