When I was 16 I climbed Mount Shavano while at a Boy Scout High Adventure Base – at 14,231 feet it's just 209 feet short of the tallest peak in the Rocky Mountains. As I watched many of the Scouts (and a few leaders) call it quits before reaching the summit, it was then that I realized that once I put my mind to something I see it through.I'm no superhero, I thought about quitting right along with those who did! Between the hail, cold temperatures, thin air, altitude sickness and high winds it would have been easy to turn around prematurely. But that view from the top was incredible! I felt a sense of pride as I stood on that mountain top – all of my preparation and hard work had paid off. That determination is alive and well today; it's how I continue to live my professional and personal life.I've got extensive international experience living, working and studying in the United Kingdom as well as studying in China and Germany.I'm a first generation college graduate who has made it this far through determination, perseverance, hard work and the love and support of my family and friends.
