My working career started with home remodeling. I worked in a family ran company which successfully renovated and sold a dozen homes before I felt it was time to expand my work experience. My first sales job was working at Best Buy. Even though this was a part-time gig, working in the fast paced electronics market taught me the basics of good communication with customer. My stint at Best Buy was cut short though as the branch I worked at was shut down. After Best Buy I briefly worked as a dishwasher at a restaurant until I found my next move. After a few months of coming home with wet feet I was offered a job at Home Depot on their merchandizing team. This was a traveling position where we would go to 6 stores in Mid-Michigan. We installed all of the advertising, new products and also set up the seasonal sections. This was the position that taught me the importance of hitting deadlines and also how to properly multi-task in a work environment. During my time there I was awarded with employee of the month multiple times. I received an award for being the top associate in my district. There was serious talk on promoting me to assistant manager but that all changed when I was offered a job at Standard Electric.I started as a back-up truck driver/warehouse associate. I was shipping and receiving materials, stocking shelves and pulling/packing customer orders. I was quickly offered a position in Counter Sales and I definitely bit off more than I could chew with this one. The first few months were rough as I learned everything on the go. But with the help of my fellow associates I grew to be very confident in my position. I became the main contact for many contractors because they didn’t trust anyone else. That too was noticed within the company.I was offered a promotion to Inside Sales with the networking and communication department. I supplied materials for multi-million dollar jobs throughout the State of Michigan and Northern Indiana. This position taught me how to think on my feet and make the right decisions at a moments notice with very little guidance from management. I parted ways in September 2021 when I decided it was again time to expand my knowledge and push for something greater in life.As you can see I have jumped a few industries at this point but don’t take that as a negative about me. For me life is about the experiences you go through and I want to learn as much as possible. If you give me the chance and provide me with proper training, you will watch me quickly climb the ranks towards top associate at your company too.
